Why should I pay for my doctor’s visits? I have insurance!

For my telehealth practice, I have chosen not to take insurance because I wanted the flexibility to spend time with my patients. Each of my telehealth visits is 60 minutes and sometimes longer! I enjoy being able to get to know each and every patient so I am better able to help YOU! I do an insurance based practice as well. Those are standard cardiology patient visits are usually 20 minutes long for a new patient and 15 minutes for a follow up.  We have a lot to cover and that just isn’t enough time to go through nutrition. Those of you who know me and have seen me know that I always spend more time than that. What would happen is that I would be constantly running and midway through the day, everyone is mad because they have been waiting for me for so long. Not fair to anyone.

I decided to change my model. On your first visit, you will spend 60-70 minutes with me as I get to know you and your medical issues. You will be asked to complete a pre-visit lifestyle questionnaire so we can maximize our time together. Each follow up is 30 minutes. You will have a clear plan after your visits and you won’t  feel rushed.

We pay for our hair. We pay for our pets. We pay for the dentist. We pay for makeup, spa and weight loss. But for some reason, we don’t feel that paying for our health is worth it.

I DO. I think you are worth it and I believe the time we spend together is WORTH IT.

Can I Submit My Bill to Insurance?

Dr. Aggarwal may be considered an out-of-network provider with your insurance company. You will receive a “Superbill” with appropriate diagnosis codes (ICD-10) codes that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

Why can't you accept Medicare or see telehealth patients 65 or over?

Since Dr. Aggarwal accepts Medicare for her in-person practice, she is bound by Medicare rules for any practice of medicine.

Unfortunately, Medicare’s financial limitations do not work with 60-minute initial visits. As a result, Dr. Aggarwal is unable to see patients covered by Medicare through Telehealth. If you are a Medicare patient (or 65 or older) and would like to be seen by Dr. Aggarwal, please call (407) 894-4474 to schedule an in-person office visit at Advent Health Winter Park.

Why can't you see patients from my state?

Practicing medicine in the United States requires licensing in the state where the patient is being seen.

So while telehealth breaks down geographic barriers, it is illegal to see patients in states where I am not licensed. Getting licensed in a state is time consuming, costly, and requires extending insurance. Unfortunately it is cost-prohibitive.

These rules are specific to the United States and there are no limitations to seeing international patients.
